Carbis To St Ives

With 100+mph winds battering the North, we walked the coast path from Carbis Bay to St Ives, selecting our route carefully to remain in the lee of the ferocious South Westerly winds. The path runs parallel to the coast rail line and gives views right across to Godrevy lighthouse. Despite the drizzle and grey day, St Ives seems to have a magical ability to look fantastic regardless. We watched surfers North of the harbour wall. We could barely stand up in the gales blowing on the headland, so swiftly retreated to an inn with a warm fire, good food and cloudy cider! The dramatic views continued through Porthminster:
On the way back, we climbed down to watch seals watching us on a small rocky beach.
