Using the excuse of meeting up with the Richmond senior team as necessitating two nights at The Haven Hotel, we journeyed to Dorset to renew our acquaintance with the seaside here.

This was the view from our bedrom looking out over Sandbanks, the chain ferry and Studland beyond.

Fantastic Friday

Cream tea on the beach, no-wetsuit paddle... and it's still only March!

Room With A View

We stayed over in Porthleven with Nige and Sarah, enjoying fabulous sea and harbour views and a beautiful walk back along the coast from Mullion the next day.

Mother's Day

SURPRISE! Hannah and Luke followed up on the flower delivery by delivering themselves in person to their lovely mother. Claire in turn, with Claudia, arranged a wonderful dinner at Hestercombe House.

Later, we called in on Grandma FT to hear about her day (with Rosie and family) and her busy life at Netherclay before all going our separate ways. A really enjoyable day for everyone.

Seaside Sunday

The sun peeped out for an afternoon of Sunday small swell. Well it's rude not to.

In the evening we found another type of gig: The Motown Pirates

Gig Morning Carbis Afternoon

Simo and Claud blagged an early row (video) to our local quay which loosened up the muscles for the day ahead. After elevenses to recoup strength and calories, we went North for a coast walk to St Ives.

After pasties on a rock watching the seals, we reached the sandy expanses of St Ives at low tide. The beautiful colours kept us entertained and thankful for such wonderful places.

Kilve

We walked along Kilve Beach, North Somerset finding ammonite fossils, skimming stones into the muddy Bristol Channel. As it began to spit with rain, we headed to Minehead for tea and cakes.
